Fundraising for Bushypark

The Bushypark fundraising cycle will take place on Saturday 5th May 2012 (May Bank Holiday Weekend) in the Burren area of North Clare. For further details on this cycle or if you wish to participate please see the Bushypark Fundraising Cycle page on their website.

‘Copping On’ Programme – Easter 2012

Clarecare Springboard Project ran a ‘Copping On’ camp for 5th class pupils living within the RAPID area of Ennis. The group of twelve was made up of boys and girls aged 10-11 and took place over four mornings during the Easter holidays. Our venue was ‘the Junction’ on Cloughleigh Road and the Copping On camp was free to attend.

The ‘Copping On’ Programme is part of a national crime awareness and prevention initiative, est.1996, developed out of a model of good practice by Youthreach and the Garda National Juvenile office.

Some of the topics covered in the programme are: Communication Skills, Relationships, Right and Wrong, Attitudes towards Crime, Drugs and Alcohol.

We incorporated Art and Craft activities into the camp and received very positive feedback from all the children who participated. There was a visit to the Ennis Garda Station and lunch in Super Macs afterwards and a great time was had by all.

Facilitators of this Copping On Programme were Betty Ryan (Family Worker) and Georgina Reidy (Childcare Worker) Spingboard Project.

Parenting Programmes Spring 2012

Our Parents Plus Parenting courses are due to commence in February & March 2012. Our 4 to 11yr programme will be running in Kilrush (St. Senans Primary School) & Ennis. We will also be running a teenage programme in Ennis and it will begin on Thursday 1st March at 10.30am.
