Research in Clarecare

The capture of agency knowledge and expertise through the undertaking of research projects and subsequent publication of the findings is an important way for Clarecare to contribute to the body of professional knowledge.

To inform the future development of the Family Support Service, two external reviews were conducted by Kieran McKeown (2004) and by Bernadette Manning (2006). These works were funded and supported by the Health Services Executive.

Clarecare staff were involved in the compilation of the following publications:

  • Clare Traveller Health Needs Assessment (2008)
  • Incredible Start Incredible Future Report : The Incredible Years Programme Ennis, Co. Clare.
  • Families of children in care, a guide to your rights if your child is in care (2008).
  • Current research projects include :
  • Clarecare Parenting Programmes Evaluation Report
  • A review of the outcomes for young people who have left the care of the HSE and received an Aftercare service from Clarecare.
  • Feedback from parents of children in care on their experience of the child care system.
  • Bushypark Evaluation report on the Aftercare Service for clients and their family members
