Clarecare, as a non-profit organisation, has been in the heart of communities in County Clare for over 50 years. During this time Clarecare has been instrumental in developing and providing high quality older persons services throughout the county through Home Care, Social Work, and Day Centres.

Clarecare was one of the pioneers of Home Care in Ireland and was the first service provider of Home Care in the community in County Clare.  Clarecare has a proven track record in establishing and maintaining Home Care in local communities. In conjunction with the HSE, in the provision of Home Care, Clarecare has established a professional and effective working partnership. Clarecare has four Home Care offices in County Clare; Ennistymon, Killaloe, Kilrush, and Ennis to respond to the growing demand for Home Care within the county.

Referrals for Home Care are made through the Home Support Office, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Ennis 065 6863858.

Clarecare Social Work Service aims to enhance the lives of older persons through the provision of a service which supports older persons in remaining independent for as long as possible. The Social Work Service is an integral part of the Clarecare Older Persons Services. The service provides individual support to older people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives under the three main categories of community supports, future care and family issues.  Social Work for Older Persons is based in Clarecare’s head office in Harmony Row and in the Killaloe office.

Clarecare has three dedicated Day Centres. They include Ennistymon, Killaloe and Cuan an Chlair in Ennis.  These Day Centres provide a lively and action packed entertainment schedule, including activities such as Go For Life Exercise, Meditation, Tai Chi, Volleyball, Bingo, Skittles, Badminton, Board Games, Arts & Crafts, Knitting, Cards, Karaoke, Pool/Snooker, Darts, Movie days, Computers, Music & Dancing, Gardening, Flower Arranging, and information talks on health, safety and citizens’ advice in addition to a “home-cooked” meal.
