The Killaloe office is used extensively by Clarecare staff. Meetings between clients and various professionals outside Clarecare are also facilitated in the Killaloe offices.

Advocacy Service for Parents of Children in Care
The Advocacy Service provides support for parents whose children are in the care of the Child and Family Agency, Tusla – foster care or residential care – in Co. Clare. The Advocacy Service aims to support parents to be actively and positively involved in their children’s lives while they are in care by providing:

  • Direct one-to-one support based on identified and agreed needs.
  • Facilitation of a parents’ monthly group meeting.
  • Information sessions with input from guest speakers on relevant topics.
  • Preparation for, and accompaniment to, relevant meetings.
  • Information on the Child in Care process.
  • Links to other appropriate services that may be of benefit to parents.

The service has an office base in both Ennis and Killaloe but staff are open to meeting parents anywhere that best suits the parents. Contact Ennis Office for further information and referral forms for the Advocacy Service.

Thrift Shop
In our thrift shop, we sell clothes, books and household items which have been donated by the local community. The items for sale are always good quality, sometimes even new and are reasonably priced. Opening hours  9-4

Home Care Service
Clarecare operates the Home Care Service in Co. Clare on behalf of the H.S.E. The service provides home care services to older people and families in stress.

There are two part-time Community Care workers based in Kilrush. Cathy Mc Hugh (Mon-Thurs), Dawn Lambert (Wed-Fri) 9:30am-5:00pm. Any queries regarding this service can be directed to Cathy/Dawn in the Kilrush offices. Should it arise that nobody is available in the Kilrush Office, a message may be left. Alternatively, urgent queries may be directed to Clarecare Ennis on 065 682 8178.

The Kilrush office is the base for The Incredible Years Project. Any queries about the IY Programmes may be directed to Eve Brennan, IY Development Worker in the Kilrush Office. Alternatively, queries may be directed to Clarecare Ennis 065 682 8178.

Feedback & Complaints

We want your feedback

In Clarecare we want to provide safe and high-quality services so that you receive the best care and treatment. We welcome your feedback; comment, compliments and complaints and view your feedback as an opportunity for let us know how we are doing and helps us to improve our services.

We want to hear from you about your experience of using our services:

  • what worked
  • what we could improve
  • what didn’t work

Make a comment, compliment or complaint

There are many ways you can tell us about your experience:

If you’re not able to give feedback yourself, ask a relative, carer or advocate to do this for you.

Comments and Compliments

A comment could be a suggestion for service improvement. It can also be an observation made by a service user that can lead to learning by the organisation. If you have a comment or compliment, we will share your feedback with the service or staff member.

Complaint

If you are unhappy and have a complaint to make about a service you received please let us know.

A complaint should include:

  • Who was involved
  • What happened and when
  • What your concerns are
  • Have you done anything to resolve this matter
  • What you want to happen now.

Please provide your name and a contact telephone number on the Feedback Form if you want us to follow up with you regarding a complaint.
If we do not have your contact details we cannot follow up with you.

What happens after you make a complaint

You may have had a poor experience and told a member of personnel or the person providing your care. If so, they will try to help you straight away, if possible, or may refer you to someone who can. If you made a written complaint, we will let you know that we have received your complaint within 5 working day.

Then we will:

  • look into your complaint and respond to you within 30 working days
  • contact you to ask for more time, if needed
  • keep you updated every 20 working days after that

We might call or ask to meet you to hear more about it.

If you are not happy with the outcome of your complaint, you can ask for an internal review by the Clarecare Review Officer. You can also ask for an external review from the Ombudsman or the Ombudsman for Children.
